FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BALTIMORE, MD: January 21, 2019 – Outcalls to reveal their brand new single “Stay” on Valentine’s Day, February 14th at midnight.

Outcalls, a woman-fronted band dubbed the “electronic opera queens” of Baltimore, is led by Britt Olsen-Ecker and Melissa Wimbish. Both classically trained musicians from Baltimore’s very own Peabody Conservatory, Outcalls creates genre-defying pop music that counters the tired narratives pervading much of today’s popular songs.

The duo of operatic sopranos will reveal their newest single “Stay” on Thursday, February 14, 2019. Their most recent release “Keep Falling Over” (May 2018) was voted the #1 song by 89.7 WTMD listeners for the Top 89 Songs of 2018 countdown and is featured in Maryland Public Television’s upcoming Artworks showcase on February 15, 2019.

From Baltimore Magazine:

“With their glittering get-ups, engaging social media presence, and ambitious attitude, Peabody grads Britt Olsen-Ecker and Melissa Wimbish have catapulted themselves onto the local arts scene and created their very own genre along the way.”

“Stay” promises to be another hit in the duo’s feminist pop canon. Outcalls brings their signature vocal energy and creativity to tell a story familiar to all of us: The bittersweet sound of a relationship coming to an end, the realization of what was lost, and of what was never there. In the opening line, “Stay” gets right to the point:

“Remember when you forgot my birthday?

That should have been the end of our story.”

The single will be available for purchase at outcalls.bandcamp.com and iTunes, as well as all major streaming platforms. Recorded and mixed by Steve Wright at Wrightway Studios in Remington, “Stay” also features guitarist Daniel Ryan of Super City, drummer Charles Wilson of Soul Cannon, and bassist Kevin Powe Jr.
